Five of our members volunteered at the Festival of Physics in Bristol this weekend. The event was run by the Institute of Physics, with stands and talks from different societies and academics.
Our stand was themed around exoplanet, these are planets which orbit other stars! We had demonstrations on how we detect these exoplanets. We had our James Webb Space Telescope postcards for attendees to take which showcased some of the amazing discoveries made in the first year of observation of Webb.
The event was a great success, with over 300 victors and our volunteers even had a chance to listen to a talk on detecting life on other planets by Dr Subi Sarkar from Cardiff University.
It was a great day, and we hope to attend the next one!
